Application Forms

Application Form The Fund for Greater Hartford uses this application. However, we also accept the common application  developed by the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy. If you choose to use the common application form, the outcome form, included in our application form, must be included.

Summer Application Form The Fund for Greater Hartford makes small ($500 - $3,000) grants for summer programs each year. We seek to fund programs that have educational value, provide recreational activities, and reach children who otherwise may not have opportunities to fill their free hours in the summer. Applications are due by 3:00 pm, March 1. Applicants will receive responses by the end of March.

Final Report Form  This form is due one year after the grant is made or when the project is completed, whichever is sooner. New applications for funds cannot be considered until we have received the final report on previous grants.

Interim Report Form The interim report is for use by applicants who have received multi-year commitments. At the end of the first year, The Fund would like to hear about progress of the program being funded. Please complete the enclosed form and send it along with a request for the disbursement of the second year of funding.

What We do Not Fund

As a reminder to applicant agencies, policies of The Fund for Greater Hartford do not allow funding of the following:

  • Organizations which are not tax-exempt under IRS Code section 501(c) (3)
  • Organizations which have the IRS Private Foundation designation
  • Individuals
  • Endowment funds
  • Religious institutions, other than for their provision of nonsectarian community services
  • Capital projects related to the arts
  • Performances, conferences, trips, one-time events
  • Annual campaigns
